Early Bird or Alternative Mentoring Program from 9:00 am - 9:50 amMentoring Session for new members and visitors: Informal Program for individuals needing help with tools, supplies, and their lettering. Bring any supplies that you have; some items will be available for use. Early Bird Program: Italic Minuscules – The Fine Points with Cindy Haller This session will delve deeper into the basic Italic lowercase letters, originally presented by Troy Brooks at the October meeting. Emphasis on the details of the alphabet will be illuminated.
Meeting Program from 10:00 am - 12:00 pmAn Overview of Italic Majuscules with Analisse Orr Learn the proper pen angles and proportions of the capital letters, building on information of the lowercase letters in the Early Bird session. The same supplies from the Early Bird session will be used in this Meeting Program.

Martyn Farm Harvest Festival at Armand Bayou Nature CenterSaturday & Sunday November 9 - 10, 2019 from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm Families will visit Guild members in a circa 1900 farmhouse where they can have their names written on cards and future calligraphers can experiment with a dip pen reflecting the activities of the Victorian Era.

MONTHLY GUILD MEETINGSThe activities and programs of the Houston Calligraphy Guild are planned and implemented by the Board of Directors. During the Guild Year which runs from September through May, the schedule includes a choice of an early bird program at 9:00 a.m. or an alternate choice mentoring program for new and current members. A short Guild business meeting takes place at 10 a.m. followed by a second calligraphy program. All meetings are held at the Tracy Gee Community Center, 3599 Westcenter, Houston, Texas 77042 unless otherwise indicated.
During the months of June, July and August, the Guild’s Summer Study Program which is for Members Only focuses on either a single calligraphic script over the three month period or a variety of related skills.
