MONTHLY GUILD MEETINGS

The activities and programs of the Houston Calligraphy Guild are planned and implemented by the Board of Directors made up of Guild members.

From September through May, the schedule includes an early bird class at 9:00 am before the official meeting at 10 a.m. During the months of June, July and August, the Guild’s summer study focuses on a single calligraphic script or related skill.

All meetings are held at the Tracy Gee Community Center, 3599 Westcenter, Houston, Texas 77042. Telephone 713-266-8193 unless otherwise informed.

EARLY BIRD PROGRAM at 9:00 a.m.

Be ZEN and Tangle Calmly – with Cindy Haller, CZT
Cindy, a Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT), will lead the participants in the structures of a tangled tile, the adaptations and variations, and share ideas on how to use the tangle concepts in your own art.

PROGRAM at 10:00 a.m.

An Introduction to Versals – with Wolf Thun
A brief overview of the history and construction of the versal, looking at their use in early manuscripts as well as how they are being used by modern scribes.

REMINDER - VALENTINES FOR VETS

Please bring your completed Valentine blanks and envelopes to the December meeting. We need to know what our count is, and how many more Valentines we need to create for the Houston VA Hospital.
